Women's Ministry

Our church is blessed to have a vibrant group of ladies who hunger and thirst for the righteousness of Christ and seek to be His hands and feet. Our numbers swell when our snowbirds arrive and add to the rich mosaic of God encounters.

There are numerous ways to become involved in the ministry of the church and to grow closer to our Lord, Jesus Christ, through Bible study, service, and fellowship.

Bible Study: Daytime and Evening at the church

New beginnings always enter my mind as we usher in a new year! 2020 promises potential for a fresh start, a new attitude, and growth in many ways. This quote by Madeleine L’Engle seems to state the obvious but is profound also, “A new year can begin only because the old year ends.” Sometimes it is hard to let go of things – relationships, work or careers, seasons of life. The end of something may be difficult and the beginning of something may be challenging but knowing God is with us each moment of every day gives us hope!

Our Ladies’ Bible study on Wednesday mornings at 9:45 is studying developing the Characteristics of Christ Jesus – Becoming More Like Jesus – Becoming More Like Me. We have studied Courage, Integrity, Wisdom, Humility, Compassion, Holiness, and Righteousness. God has us focusing on Hope, Joy, and Peace during January as we start 2020.

Another opportunity of study is with the evening meetings of Esther Circle. We previously met on Wednesday evenings bi-monthly but have changed to the 2nd and 4th Thursdays monthly at 6:30 p.m. We will begin a new study on January 9, 2020 of the Gospel of Matthew as led by Max Lucado’s book. Please contact me if you need a book or would like additional information via email, womensministry@diumc.org.

Both studies are held at DIUMC with a few changes during the Feed the Need food pantry distributions 6 times per year.

Rom. 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Please come be a part of encouraging each other and walking in the presence of Jesus. Bring a friend!
