FEED THE NEED NOW USDA CERTIFIED

As many of you know our Feed the Need program has been a key ministry of our church for several years. First, we would like to thank all of our volunteers and people who have donated to the ministry over the years. We have recently began the process to become a USDA certified food bank, which would allow us access to more food options when ordering for the food bank at lower prices and a wider variety of foods are available to us through this program. For example we will be able to purchase frozen meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, or cheese depending on availability of foods at the time the order is placed. Other benefits allow us to offer a disaster relief food bank in the aftermath of a severe storm and the backpack program which offers food to children in need during off times of school such as weekends or holidays. We would like to ask for your support with your prayers, service and gifts, because on a weekly basis we are contacted by local agencies for families in need of food. This month alone we have served a total of 123 people. We expect these numbers will continue to rise during COVID-19 pandemic and the upcoming weather related issues. As the needs of the community continues to grow our need as a church to serve the community will continue to grow also. We are always looking for volunteers to pick up food from the food bank, unload food when delivered, bag food, or distribute food to families in need.
